Social Work Services: The team, which includes a number of bi-lingual staff provides a comprehensive welfare rights and advice service as well as community development and engagement activities for individuals and local community groups. Services are open to residents of Pollokshields and in particular those from the local BME community.

Other Glasgow City Council Social Work Services: The Community Addiction Service provides access to treatment and care for individuals who have harmful or dependant substance misuse issues. This includes: • Assessment and Recovery planning. • Access to treatment and care • Recovery focussed interventions • 1:1 counselling and support • Assessment of physical and psychological needs People will be able to book appointments at the Shields Centre – please note that staff are not based at the Shields Centre and appointments must be arranged in advance via the Community Addictions Team on: 0141 276 3010 (Langton Road) or 0141 276 8740 (Rowanpark).
