When We Are Closed

From Monday to Friday, the surgery is closed between 18:00 and 08:30 and also from 18:00 Friday to 08:30 Monday. In order to obtain medical advice at these times, or if you are ill and it can't wait until the practice re-opens, please phone the NHS 24 number 111.

A receptionist in the emergency call centre will answer your call and either:

  1. Arrange advice from a doctor or nurse.
  2. Invite you to attend the centre to be seen by a doctor.
  3. Arrange a home visit if you are too ill to visit the centre.

Transport to and from the treatment centre is available if you cannot arrange this yourself. Please ask for further details from our reception if required.

Out of hours cover is now the responsibility of GGNHSB.

Further advice and information can also be obtained from NHS 24, telephone number: 111, web address: www.nhs24.com.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
